Another week brings yet another example of a third-party delivery company partnering with a restaurant to launch a new virtual restaurant. This latest is New York City-based Just Salad partnering with Grubhub to launch Health Tribes, a digital-only concept that launched October 10 and will be available for delivery or pickup at any of the healthy concept’s locations. The brand’s U.S. turf includes New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Florida and North Carolina.

Healthy Tribes offers a variety of diet-specific recipes, including nutritionist-verified recipes that are compatible with keto, vegan, gluten-free and paleo diets.

“As the dietary needs and preferences of our guests evolve, we’re taking this step with Grubhub to evolve right alongside them,” said Stephen Swartz, Just Salad VP of marketing.

“Just Salad has recognized the changing tastes of consumers, and we’re excited to partner with them on this new concept,” said Raleigh McClayton, VP and GM, business development/enterprise at Grubhub. “By leveraging our data and insights across the platform, we were able to work with Just Salad to help strategically inform new concepts and menus, and we see this as the first phase of innovation around their virtual restaurant concepts.”

Just Salad’s internal team developed new salad and bowl-based recipes for the virtual restaurant, and new items include veggie and fruit bowls, shawarma and a Protein Power bowl, among others.
